What is my fee to plan my trip with Land & See Portugal?

Land & See Portugal is a no cost travel advisory service. We do not charge our clients a fee for working with us (unless you choose our concierge services where we book rooms, restaurants and activities for you). We receive small commissions from the companies you book with using the links that we provide on our site and on our itineraries.

How far in advance should we plan and book our trip?

We suggest planning your trip 4 to 6 months in advance, but we're happy to help with an itinerary for any timeframe. During the high season, it's wise to book activities as soon as you have a plan, as many can be canceled up to 48 hours beforehand (please check cancellation policies when booking). Securing your plans early is ideal, and you can always make adjustments if needed. Additionally, hotels tend to fill up quickly during peak times, but there are usually plenty of options available if you're flexible.

What is the best time of year to visit Portugal?

The summer has the best weather in Portugal for beachgoers, but it can get quite warm, and the hotels are likely to have higher prices, with attractions also being more crowded. We find the shoulder seasons of late Spring (mid-April / May) and early Fall (Sept/Oct) to be wonderful times to visit Portugal, if your schedule permits, particularly for the big cities and Douro Valley. Prices are generally much lower with fewer tourists than the summer months, although the weather is more variable.
